Traveling Newcastle fans would have loved this gesture from Huddersfield Town last night

It’s pretty safe to say that Newcastle United fans have never really been charmed by Mike Ashley ever since the business tycoon took over the club in 2007.

Whether it be through his revolving door policy when it comes to managers or his failure to uphold promises in the transfer market, Mike Ashley hasn’t shown the kind of passion needed to run a football club and hence never really got one of the most important elements at a club on his side – the fans.

As a result, the situation between the top brass and the supporters has gotten increasingly toxic over the years and fans have been left disappointed on numerous occasions as potential buyers have backed out after failing to negotiate with Mike Ashley.

But most recent reports indicate that the British entrepreneur is close to agreeing a deal with a consortium led by ex-Manchester City chief Garry Cook and fans understandably seem stoked at the news.

But ahead of their clash with Huddersfield Town , the travelling supporters were also given a delightful surprise by their hosts for the evening as they put up a poster in support of the calls to oust Mike Ashley.

Thanking the away fans for making the long trip from Tyneside , the Huddersfield fans also decided to join in on the fight against Ashley by using the hashtag #ASHLEYOUT, used by Geordies to garner support for their cause on social media.
