Jamie Carragher 30 yard shot on goal hits the post vs QPR (Video)

Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher played his last game in a Liverpool jersey. Kept another clean sheet, his 200th. Thus making him the only player who has kept more clean sheets as a starter than any goalkeeper or defender in the history of the Premier League.

But the most brilliant part of Carragher’s last game was the epic hit from the Scouser, from about 30 yards away.

It would have been a brilliant goal had it got in but it was denied by the post. Had everything to be a classic long range goal. And the timing would have made it more momentous.

Carra said, ”It’s an emotional day. I’m just getting the hang of shooting in my final game, it’s come a bit late.”.

Watch the shot and the miss below.

Philippe Coutinho hits a 28 yard goal against QPR, Incredible Jordan Ibe Assist

An incredible goal from Liverpool’s Brazilian youngster Philippe Coutinho. The shot was taken from about 28 yards out and it was absolutely rocketed into the left bottom corner.

The goal was assisted by Jordan Ibe, the 17 year old, making his debut in the last game of the season and the last ever match for Jamie Carragher in a Liverpool shirt. That makes it seven youth team players in Wisdom, Coady, Suso, Ibe, Yesil, Sinclair & Morgan who have made their Liverpool debuts this season.

Daniel Agger and Steven Gerrard as expected were nowhere to be seen in the line up.

Benfica vs Chelsea 1-2 Highlights and Report, 2013 Europa League Final

Benfica vs Chelsea Report

Amsterdam Arena | 15 May 2013 | Europa League Final| Full Time: 1-2

Branislav Ivanovic, the Serbian player of the year scored one of the most important goals in Chelsea’s history as his precise stoppage time header from a Juan Mata free kick earned the only trophy of the season for the Blues.

A heartbreak for the Portuguese side, Benfica looked the better of the two sides but Chelsea just edged them out through two superbly taken goals.

Fernando Torres scored the first goal of the match, 15 minutes into the second half, Torres received a fantastic ball from Mata and then battled past Luisao and goalie Moraes to score a very good looking goal.

Oscar Cardozo got Benfica back on level terms 8 minutes later, through a rocketed penalty after Azpilicueta was seen stupidly handling the ball.

The match was never one sided but Benfica at most of the time were brilliant in their formation and attack and showed superior silky skills than their English counterparts.
