Paul Anderson maybe wooing over plenty of spectators as Arthur Shelby in the hit series Peaky Blinders but the British actor has pretty much blown his chances of getting the same love from the Rangers faithful any time soon.
Several Rangers fans took to Twitter to vent their anger at the 40-year-old after he expressed his love for bitter rivals Celtic and Kieran Tierney through a video on the popular social networking site.
Dressed up in Arthur Shelby’s attire, the actor declared his allegiance to the Hoops while holding up a Celtic shirt before kissing the Celtic crest at the end of the 15 second clip.
The responses on Twitter from many Rangers fans seem to point to an impending boycott of the series with many fans totally uninterested in watching a series where one of the main characters is played by a Hoops fan.
Safe to say he won’t be given a warm reception around Ibrox.
Quite NSFWish, check out some of the responses below :
Andy Halliday and Ryan Jack showed fans that they are top blokes off the pitch as well by visiting a young fan battling with cancer recently.
The midfield duo have been playing only a bit-part role for Steven Gerard so far this season because of their injury troubles but reminded fans that footballers can do a lot of good work when they aren’t playing for their clubs as well.
Getting to meet two of his footballing heroes up close would have surely made the brave lad’s day and he looked absolutely excited in a photo with the duo.
Real class from the Rangers duo. Check out the story here:
Stevie G should be pretty delighted with the duo’s sweet gesture and will need them both at their best as the Gers look to make up some lost ground in the league.
Even though Tottenham fans have the right to be a little sceptical about news pertaining to the completion of development of their new stadium, it now genuinely seems like the much-awaited opening is closer than ever before.
The club left fans disappointed after pushing up the scheduled opening of the ground earlier in the year but have now started sending out ticket packs to their season ticket holders.
The club’s decision could be a big hint that the work on the ground-breaking stadium is in its closing stages and is not all that far way from an official unveiling.
The timing of the development is also interesting as it fits in with Pochettino’s claim during a recent presser that he is “confident” the stadium will open before Christmas after talks with Daniel Levy.
The lucky supporters who received the packs were obviously thrilled and were quick to post photos of the goodies they got from the club on Twitter.
Check out the posts from the delighted supporters here:
Loyalty is definitely one of those things in the world that cannot be bought with money.
With players and managers wanting instant success and bigger paychecks, clubs have had to sit back helplessly as super agents brokered their clients into fancier deals elsewhere.
The trend is especially worrying for English clubs, with the riches and glory on offer at other big European clubs often tempting away the best talents from the Premier League on numerous occasions in the past.
But Spurs have somewhat gone against this trend and according to a recently conducted study, the Lilywhites rank first in England in terms of holding onto their star men.
While Spurs have seen the likes of Luka Modric, Gareth Bale and more recently Kyle Walker moving to other clubs in pursuit of trophies, they have largely been successful in keeping hold of their players with Harry Kane, Toby Alderweireld and Dele Alli all staying put despite the constant speculation linking them to top clubs across Europe.
Check out the results from the study here :
Mauricio Pochettino and chairman Daniel Levy has definitely managed to inspire loyalty from their squad and will now be looking to translate the stability in the dressing room into trophies in the near future.
Arsenal put in their best performance under Unai Emery and were clearly the better side in the 5-1 rout of Fulham at Craven Cottage.
While the score-line looks pretty impressive in itself, it was the manner in which Arsenal went about their game that really deserves credit. It seems some of the good football on the pitch rubbed off on the team in charge of the club’s official Twitter as well as the social media team came up with an absolutely brilliant animation based on the stunning team goal.
The admins earned some major points with Gooners for their retro video game themed edit of Ramsey’s goal. Titled ‘EmeryBall – DELUXE!’, the edit showcases the events leading up to the goal of the season contender from its inception to the finish and is definitely one of the club’s best tweets in recent memory.
Now’s that how to run a Twitter account! Check out the post which has gone viral amongst Arsenal fans:
Despite trailing for most of the second half, Leeds United showed plenty of grit to claim a point against Brentford on Saturday. After seeing Brentford go up via a controversial penalty decision, Leeds salvaged a point in the end as a towering Pontus Jansson rose high to head in the equalizer at Elland Road.
The new-found fighting spirit within the club seems to have made a big impression on the fans with a recent study ranking the Peacocks third in average attendance in second divisions across Europe. And judging by the scenes in the executive box on Saturday, the gritty display seems to have got the owners pumped up as well.
Andrea Radrizzani seems to hold a great deal of affection for the Peacocks judging by his reaction to the equalizer against Brentford. You don’t have to be a professional lip reader to make out what the Italian businessman is saying after nearly breaking his glasses during the celebrations but it’s unclear as to who the rant was aimed at.
Perhaps at the referee? Check out the clip below:
Leeds United fans on Twitter were glad to see that the owners were on the same page with them and loved the sheer display of passion from Radrizzani on Saturday.
Supporters adore him, players love to play for him and opposing managers have nothing but respect for him, it’s safe to say Maurizio Sarri has hit the ground running at Chelsea.
“Sarri-Ball” has been almost unplayable at times and the tactics employed by the Italian seems to have a positive effect on most of the Chelsea players. Eden Hazard has perhaps benefited most from the change in style and has been in scorching form for the Blues and extended his goal tally to 8 for the season during the 3-0 win at the St. Mary’s on Sunday.
While often viewed as one of the best players in England over the last few seasons, several sections in the footballing world always seem to expect more from the Belgian and want to see him get closer to numbers delivered by the likes of Ronaldo and Messi. But Talksport pundit Jason Cundy is of the opinion that the 28-year-old is already on an elite level and the Londoners should be breaking the bank to tie him down to a new contract, even quoting a mind blowing £750,000 a week to convince him to stay!
Check out the tweet from Talksport featuring the story here :
It’s beyond doubt that Chelsea fans want him to stay badly but some on Twitter felt that the figures quoted by the the former Blues defender is definitely way too much money while others seemed convinced that the Belgian will leave for Madrid at some stage in his career.
There was a time when Leeds United were one of if not the most feared team in England as the Peacocks utterly dominated the rest of the division under Don Revie till the 70s and were considered one of the mainstays in the Premier League during it’s early years. But the Whites suffered relegation in 2004 and haven’t been able to get back to the top tier of English football for more than a decade amidst constant shuffling in ownership and management.
But things finally look like they are about to change this season as a Marcelo Bielsa sparked revolution has got the Peacocks firing on all cylinders in the Championship. The home fans have been flocking to Elland Road to watch the brilliant football being played under the Argentine’s watch.
While attendance has always been on the higher side at Elland Road, a new graphic released by Depor&Finanzas underlines how the fans have especially gotten behind the team this season.
According to the graphic, Leeds United rank third in average attendance taken across second divisions in all of Europe with an impressive 32,942 supporters walking through the doors at Elland Road on an average during matchdays.
Check out the graphic here :
Elland Road has indeed been rocking this campaign and the numbers clearly signify the positivity that has been brought back to the club following Biesla’s appointment.

United produced a dreamy second half performance at the Theater of Dreams as Alexis Sanchez’ wonderful header completed a memorable comeback for the home team, despite going two goals down early in the first half.
In a match that was deemed as Jose’s last in the United dugout before the kick-off, the Red Devils dug deep and finally showed some of the grit that was seen from the great United teams of the past. Mourinho and his players were obviously jubilant from the stunning win and were all smiles following the full time whistle.
Despite rumored to have a fractured relationship with his manager, star man Pogba came to the fore when it mattered and delivered another solid performance for his team yesterday. The World Cup winner scored some major points with the fans after the full time whistle as well by staying back on the pitch to celebrate with the home supporters.
Check out a clip of Pogba applauding the home crowd below:
While certain performances earlier in the season had put some serious question marks over the unity in United’s squad, the win should definitely give the Red Devils a timely boost as they look to make up some lost ground in the league.
Leeds United showed grit and determination to snatch a point against Brentford at Elland Road. Just as the visitors looked like they were going home with all the points, Pontus Jansson rose high to head the Peacocks back into the game.
The fixture was not short on drama after referee Jeremy Simpson awarded Brentford a controversial penalty in the 68th minute after Ollie Watkins went down under a challenge from Leeds goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell. But the hosts dug deep and avoided a second defeat of the season thanks to the Swede’s header.
The goal absolutely lifted the roof at Elland Road as supporters went into a frenzy after witnessing the late goal. But while such a reaction was always warranted from the home supporters, spectators were also delighted to see the sheer passion on display from Marcelo Biesla on the sidelines.
Pumping his fist in sheer passion! Check out a clip of Biesla’s reaction here:
Billed up as one of the club’s most important footballing decisions in the summer, the veteran coach has certainly delivered so far into his spell and has attained cult-like status at Elland Road after getting United to play some swashbuckling football. While the draw ensures Leeds still stay top in the Championship, Biesla will surely be looking to grab all 3 point during their next game against Blackburn on Saturday.
