[/mt_one_half] Tottenham player, Gareth Bale, under red hot form and being compared to Ronaldo & Messi is still managing to keep it together. The scorer of awesome goals as evident by this & this has got a tremendous knowledge of errrr….. himself?
That’s right. Bale knows himself a lot well than you might think he does.
The Welshman answered questions from FATV that were based on his own career, after Tottenham’s 2-3 win against West Ham.
We like the bit when Bale cheekily answers ‘Taxi for Maicon’.
[/mt_one_half] Dimitar Berbatov, perhaps known for his smoothness with the football, is also very smooth on a drawing sheet. Berba has been showcasing his work for quite some time now, but it is really getting a lot of attention after his Marlon Brando drawing from ‘The Godfather’.
The Fulham striker, posted the image (see below) on his official Facebook Page after he scored the match winner and the only goal of the match against Stoke City. It was a sublime volley to win the match last weekend, matched equally by sublimeness of his drawing.
While digging more on this topic (the photos section) we found out that, Berba has already done Bruce Willis, Hugh Hefner, Hugh Laurie and Louis de Funès. All of them can be seen below.
Could be more, should be, looks like he is a fantastic artist off the field too.
[/mt_one_half] Welshman and Liverpool legend Ian Rush is now being seen in a Harlem Shake video, standing still while surrounded by people moving vigorously. The Liverpool Harlem Shake video, very reminiscent of the Manchester City one with Aleksandar Kolarov.
Those people dancing are actually the Liverpool fans in Jakarta, Indonesia. As Liverpool is growing it’s presence in the country, the club decided to mark the occasion with a Harlem Shake video with club ambassador Ian Rush in it. It took place at the Senayan City Mall.
Watch Ian Rush do nothing but bounce a football for the first 15 secs and then stand still for the remaining 15 secs.
[/mt_one_half] David Beckham couldn’t have chosen a more difficult game to debut for PSG. A match against bitter rivals Marseille , supposedly the biggest match in Ligue 1.
Beckham became Paris Saint-Germain’s 400th player in the history and buoyed by that fact, helped his side win 2-0. A match where he also faced Joey Barton in the opposition.
As we were saying, the toughest match to make a debut.
The ex LA Galaxy player did not start the match but was substituted in for Javier Pastore in the 75th minute. And in his 15 minute cameo, Beckham made everyone realize that in some areas, he is still the master and is as good as anyone out there. A thoroughly clinical performance and he also helped in making that second goal for PSG which was slotted home by Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Already signs that this duo can prove lethal. And quite friendly too, as Becks jumped Ibra after the goal.
Watch David Beckham’s performance video and the highlights from the match below.
[/mt_one_half] PSV Eindhoven striker Jeremain Lens lost his cool and tried to grab Feyenoord defender Joris Mathijsen’s throat at the tunnels of the De Kuip. Seeing that, all the surrounding Feyenoord players jumped to Mathijsen’s rescue and Lens found himself alone amongst lot of Feyenoord players. Then some PSV players and staff joined as well. It got really bad for a second there.
Eventually Feyenoord manager Ronald Koeman had to come and break all the fistcuffs.
[/mt_one_half] Lionel Messi is seen playing Cricket in this new Herbalife commercial. Messi has been associated with the brand for some time now. His earlier commercials included basketball and then an ad as a table tennis player.
Messi faces two balls, puts forward a solid defence in the first and hits the other one for six. Then tries his hands on bowling, its probably illegal in Cricket, the way he bowls. Its called as chucking. The batsman hits him for two consecutive sixes. It doesn’t go down too well with Messi and then he shoots the cricket ball with his foot which off spins to glory and hits the wicket.
[/mt_one_half] Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini let on rip in front of the reporters, by that we mean he said the f-word in front of a room full of journos. The Italian looked clearly frustrated when asked about his future at the Etihad Stadium. As reported by BBC Sport.
It has not been easy for Mancini in recent times, with the loss to Southampton and bitter rivals Manchester United taking a 12 points lead at the top of the table. Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini was the last person to have been linked with the managerial spot at Manchester City, with the speculation that Mancini might be fired at the end of the season if the performance don’t improve drastically.
So, when a reporter asked the same thing, A frustrated Mancini said, “F****** hell”. He then smiled, realized what he had just said and then tried to recover from it.
Smilingly, he then went on to say, ” I cannot continue to answer about this every week. We’ve another two months. You’ll know then but I can’t continue with this.”
As everyone might remember few days ago Mancini had said that he is the best manager in England. Clearly, a lot has changed after that information.
You can see the moment when Roberto Mancini lets it fly in front of the reporters.
[/mt_one_half] Luis Suarez was at the fore front of all things happening in Liverpool’s 3-1 win against Zenit St. Petersburg in the Europa League. It was 3-3 on aggregate but Liverpool went out due to Hulk’s first goal of the night, an away goal.
But the match would be remembered for a fighting display from Liverpool, fans would especially be happy as the team played hard and slick for the full 90 minutes.
Back to Suarez, he had a wonderful game, scoring two free kicks, the second one being an absolute belter. But, as usual, the Uruguayan could not keep away from doing something naughty. The ‘alleged’ stamp on Tomas Hubocan was ugly at best.
Watch both the free kicks, the stamp on Hubocan and personal highlights and performance videos below.
Last night in the Europa League, Fenerbahce won 1-0 against Belarusian side BATE Borisov. Cristian Baroni scored the only goal with a penalty.
But the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium was spectator less as fans were banned from attending the game by UEFA due to their mischievous act in the game against Borussia Monchengladbach. And one would think the would progress without any stoppages due to disturbances from the crowd, as that factor had been removed by the ban.
But, the match did get held up for about 3 minutes in the first half as the fans lit up parachute flares outside the ground. And some flares managed to enter the ground. Crazy scenes. And cheekily enough, their was a banner in the stadium which read ‘AS IF WE WERE HERE’.
All the fans were watching the game outside the stadium in a big screen. And everyone went crazy when Fenerbahce scored the goal.
