Last night in the Europa League, Fenerbahce won 1-0 against Belarusian side BATE Borisov. Cristian Baroni scored the only goal with a penalty.
But the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium was spectator less as fans were banned from attending the game by UEFA due to their mischievous act in the game against Borussia Monchengladbach. And one would think the would progress without any stoppages due to disturbances from the crowd, as that factor had been removed by the ban.
But, the match did get held up for about 3 minutes in the first half as the fans lit up parachute flares outside the ground. And some flares managed to enter the ground. Crazy scenes. And cheekily enough, their was a banner in the stadium which read ‘AS IF WE WERE HERE’.
All the fans were watching the game outside the stadium in a big screen. And everyone went crazy when Fenerbahce scored the goal.
Sky Sports football pundits went into a laughter madness for a while last night during the Milan-Barca game in the Champions League.
It seems as if, Jamie Redknapp really found it hard to pronounce the name of the Milan striker El Shaarawy. He actually did, it took Redknapp numerous attempts to finally get it correctly. And this made Ruud Gullit burst into laughter. He laughed so hard he almost fell and then he continued for a little while. It became quite embarrassing for Redknapp after a while.
[/mt_one_half] Manchester City has joined the bandwagon, as they have just come out with their own version of the popular/viral internet thing called as ‘Harlem Shake’.
These ‘Harlem Shake’ videos are coming out thick and fast since it went viral a few days ago. Welsh Open and Crystal Palace cheerleaders have come out with their versions as well.
For people wondering what a ‘Harlem Shake’ dance video is all about? It is a 31 second clip, it starts with a single person, wearing a mask or a costume, dancing while everybody around pretends not to notice it and then after the 15 second mark, the bass drops and you see a number of people dancing weirdly at the same time.
Its funny how Aleksandar Kolarov looks all pissed off and angry while standing in between all those people with costumes dancing horridly.
Manchester City one definitely stands out. Probably the best one yet?

[/mt_one_half] Next time someone asks, why do you want to be a professional football player, kindly direct them to this video. This is why everyone wants to be a footballer. Or, at least it’s one of the main reasons. Seriously.
Fluminense striker and captain, just drove around the streets of Rio de Janeiro and ended up hooking up with random women, at will. That’s how do they do it in Brazil. The video below shows Fred getting a kiss from a biker girl, met for the first time of course.
[/mt_one_half] Arsene Wenger let off some steam, which must have been building inside him for a long time now. Arsenal loss to Blackburn could not have come at a worse time as they prepare to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League last 16.
It all started when a reporter asked the Arsenal manager that the board was offering him an extension on his contract. To which Arsene replied that it was all a lie.
He then went on to say, ‘These are wrong information and it has only intention, to harm.’
[/mt_one_half] Brand new Liverpool signing from Inter Milan, Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho was handed his first full debut at Anfield. And the 20 year old did not disappoint. Scored a goal, all by himself with a super run and a brilliant finish. Liverpool’s second goal of the match.
[/mt_one_half] The 1st ODI between New Zealand and England witnessed a totally unexpected event. England batted first, Ian Bell pulled an excellent shot which went for six. Mitchell McLenaghan tried extremely hard to catch the ball but it went over him.
Unexpectedly, a ball boy right behind McLenaghan and over the boundary, leaped on towards his left snatched the catch. It looked like he didn’t realise, he took a spectacular catch.
[/mt_one_half] A bicycle kick is always special, even when a goalie scores the goal on his own net.
The incident comes from a Liverpool training session. Pepe Reina scores a scorching own goal bicycle kick. Though he is not standing that far from the posts but the skills applied are definitely top notch.
Liverpool fans will definitely hope, Pepe doesn’t try something like this in an actual match.
