Top 5 Strikers Liverpool Should Make a Move for in January Transfer Window

Top 5 Strikers Liverpool Should Make a Move for in January Transfer Window | Liverpool transfer News

Everyone with something to say on football knows Liverpool needs a top class striker. A goal poacher, to be precise. Luis Suarez has scored goals for Liverpool this season, till now, but it is definitely not enough. Fabio Borini was supposed to be Brendan Rodger’s man for the job but the Italian, looks like will take a little more time to settle in and score a bunch load of goals.

It is also high time that the management at Liverpool take steps in helping take some of the pressure from Luis Suarez. All oppositions target the Uruguayan, of that their is no doubt because he is a very dangerous player. Brendan Rodgers need to distract his opposition from their focus on Suarez because many times it results in this. And that results in Suarez taking those silly dives. In the end, it only hurts Liverpool.

So here is a list of 5 strikers who could solve all the aforementioned problems of the club. Of course, no body said it is going to be easy to persuade these players to come to Anfield, especially with no Champions League football to offer. But then no job is, that is why it’s called as a job. Maybe the 5th option wouldn’t be that difficult.

1) Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (Schalke)

2) Fernando Llorente (Atheltic Bilbao)

3) Robert Lewandowski (Borussia Dortmund)

4) Demba Ba (Newcastle United)

5) Andy Carroll (on loan at West Ham)

Transfer News: Liverpool planning to sign Dries Merten of PSV

As per latest news sources in European media, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is planning to sign Dries Mertens of PSV.

dries mertens

Will Mertens be transferred to Liverpool?

The Belgian winger could be a good fit into the Liverpool line up. Dries Mertens has had a good season so far with the Dutch club PSV Eindhoven, and his good showing has attracted the interest of many clubs, speculating transfer news on more than one count.

Mertens joined PSV in July 2011 when he and FC Utrecht team mate Kevin Strootman were jointly transferred for a reported sum of 13 million euros.

The midfielder has been in striking form since then scoring as many as 21 goals in 33 matches in his first season in Holland. Mertens was also instrumental in turning around the result in the friendly against Netherlands in August this year. He was not in the starting line up and only came in as a replacement with his side 1-2 down. He not just scored himself, but aided two more goals as Belgium finished winner with 4-2.

Not suprising then that the major football club bosses have been interested in the Belgian. The 25 year old is rumoured to be attracting a valuation of in excess of 10 million pounds!

Watch this space for more transfer news updates on Dries Mertens. We like the guy, and expect him to go places soon. The Liverpool stint might just be the start of much bigger things.

Manchester United in for Wesley Sneijder, Again.

Manchester United are interested to buy Wesley Sneijder from Inter Milan in the upcoming winter transfer window.

Inter Milan, it seems, are ready to sell their midfield powerhouse Wesley Sneijder and Manchester United are again in the fore front to sign the Dutch national. Manchester United had earlier tried for the Inter Milan player in the summer transfer window but were not able to match his salary.

This time around, though, it looks like Inter Milan will accept an offer around 30 million pounds for Sneijder. Manchester United, themselves have a reason to buy the midfielder, as Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad has a number of injuries. Anderson, Cleverley and Darren Fletcher are already out due to injury.

Inter Milan are hoping to improve their squad as well and the first step is to sell their star man and generate capital which could put an end to a nightmarish start at Serie A for them.

AC Milan and Carlos Tevez’s agent Kia Joorabchian are in talks to make a January move for Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.

According to BBC, it has been reported that AC Milan, the Italian giants, are already in talks with Carlos Tevez’a agent for a possible move in the January transfer window. The club hasn’t spoken to the player directly but they have met his agent in Milan.
