Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund | Big Match Bundesliga | 19 Nov 11

Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund | 19 Nov 11

Venue: Allianz Arena, Munich

Kick Off: 18.30 Germany time

The big, bad, bold letter above should tell you how bad ass this match going to be. This match preview is all about that badassness. This fixture is not less than any battle. The battle of forwards, the battle of midfield, the battle of defence and even the battle of goalkeepers. The battle between the league leaders (Bayern Munich) and the current champions (Borussia Dortmund) who are in the second position but 5 points behind Bayern Munich. And the battle between Jupp Heynckes and Jurgen Klopp.

Actually on points there are other clubs on the same level with Dortmund. Both Werder Bremen and Monchengladbach have got 23 points, equal to Dortmund, but Dortmund are ahead on goal difference.

Bundesliga as a league is perhaps the most thrilling one in terms of the Football at display and a match of this calibre is certain to be explosive. Borussia Dortmund are certainly in explosive form as they have scored 11 goals in their last 3 matches which includes 2 wins against FC Koln and Wolfsburg, scoring 5 goals in each match. The third match being a 1-1 draw against Stuttgart.

Bayern Munich has been impressive from the start of the season with only 1 loss and 1 drawn match. Frank Ribery has been as been at his best and Mario Gomez has had a start which is only matched by the legendary Gerd Muller. Defence too has been solid with Holger Badstuber with Van Buyten and Lahm have been miserly to leak goals. Manuel Neuer has also kept clean sheets at will.

Two names crop when thinking about Borussia Dortmund, namely Mario Gotze & Robert Lewandowski. Awesome players doing awesome things this season. Together they have scored 12 goals till now this season and are going for glory big time. And with Mats Hummels being the Iron Man at the back, Borussia Dortmund are putting their best foot forward again this season.

Video – John Terry Being Asked Whether He’s a Racist

This video is actually very funny. Apparently a journalist at an FA press conference asked John Terry whether he was a racist or not. The question was brutal, direct and in his face. Terry obviously didn’t reply as the matter is still under investigation and there was an FA man besides John terry, who duly reminded the journalist that questions related to investigation would not be entertained.

Still pretty funny, check out the video below.

Suarez Wants to Extend His Liverpool Stay

Uruguayan and Liverpool forward maestro Luis Suarez already wants to extend his Liverpool stay after his 5 year contract with the club. Suarez wants to extend that tradition that is associated with the no. 7 shirt in Liverpool. In an interview with Liverpool tv, Suarez mentioned that he is loving life at Liverpool and enjoys the respect he gets from the whole city.

Suarez mentioned “I’ve just started a phase of my career which I always dreamed about and wanted to do, which is to play for Liverpool. I have five years left on my contract and I think beyond that, I’m already thinking about staying many more years at Liverpool.

“It’s a club I like. I feel very good about being here, about being in the city.”

“I feel very pleased. It would be difficult to match the atmosphere, hunger for success and glory that this club has at another team.”

Pretty sure the Liverpool fans would be very pleased with the news and would want him to stay in the club forever. Suarez was bought in the January transfer window from Ajax Amesterdam.

John Terry Will Captain England Against Sweden, Capello Confirms

John Terry had absolutely no part to play in the match against Spain last Saturday. England won the friendly 1-0, with a Frank Lampard header. But coach Fabio Capello has confirmed that the controversial Chelsea defender will captain the three lions in the friendly against Sweden on Tuesday.

John Terry will partner with Gary Cahill in the defence replacing Phil Jagielka and Joleon Lescott. Both Jagielka and Lescott were massive against Spain.

Daniel Sturridge will support Bobby Zamora in attack as England will be making a lot of changes in the friendly against Sweden. Even Jack Rodwell and Kyle Walker are suppose to start the match.

There are talks as well the goalkeeper Scott Carson also might get a chance.

Frank Lampard was the captain against Spain as Fabio Capello did not wanted John Terry to cope with such pressure in an important match.

Cash Rich PSG to Make a Move For Cristiano Ronaldo?

In the lates of bizarre transfer news, we might have a king. Cash rich French club Paris Saint-Germain may have very bigplans for the transfer windows in the near future. The French club were recently taken over by Qatar Investment Authority with a 70% share in the club. And the power of the money did show with the big money transfer of Javier Pastore from Palermo for a staggering amount of 39 million Euros. PSG also roped in former Milan manager Leonardo for the managers post.

And now former Portugal international Pauleta has advised the club to go for the kill in the transfer market. Pauleta has reportedly said that PSG should go for the best in the World with the kind of money they have. And one of the best in the world right now is Cristiano Ronaldo.

Precisely Pauleta said “The arrival of the investors from Qatar is a good thing. Everybody is happy that they’re at PSG. They have the money to sign the best players in the world, and I advise them to go after Cristiano Ronaldo.”

But there might be a big problem as Ronaldo plays for Real Madrid, a club with insurmountable money resources. So it might a tad difficult for PSG to lure Ronaldo in their side.

But in a Football world with bizarre transfers recently, we would not like to cancel out any possibilities.

Liverpool – Season 2011 -12 Review, So Far

We have seen 11 games so far in EPL this season, almost little less than one third of the season has completed. It’s time to look back at those game which have been played by Liverpool. Liverpool sit on the 6th position with 19 points, same as Arsenal but ahead on goal difference. Arsenal did suffer a horrendous 2-8 loss against Manchester United which has allowed Liverpool to be ahead. Whereas Liverpool avoided any such results. Spurs are ahead of Liverpool on the 5th spot with 22 points while playing just 10 games.

Their form guide tells us that Liverpool have amassed 10 points from 6 home games which includes 2 wins and 4 draws. Even ardent Liverpool supporter will accept that it is a little too many drawn home matches considering two of the draws were against newly promoted Swansea City & Norwich City. Playing away Liverpool have managed 9 points from 5 games which includes 3 wins and 2 losses. Liverpool haven’t lost any of their last 6 matches collecting 12 points, which is good for their agenda this season. The agenda being, getting back into Champions League.

The 2011- 12 season is suppose to get Liverpool back at where they belong. And the owners, to their credit, have been absolutely wonderful. From Providing Kenny Dalglish with all the money for transfers to getting connected with supporters. John Henry led NESV has been patient as well. Kenny Dalglish has tried a lot of combinations, some of which has fared well too. And he is the right man to take Liverpool forward, for that their is no doubt.

But till now, overall, the season has not been almost to everyone’s expectation and some of the fans have started complaining already. Which brings us to the question, is it too early judge the owners, the manager and the players. Well, of course, it is. But some onus has to be on the players as they seem completely out of intensity in some matches, that too, the home matches. Probably their best bit came in the loss against Stoke City, where Liverpool were ruthless, creating chances at will and majority of the match was played at Stoke’s half.

Lets just hope that after this international break, the players come back strong against Chelsea and show their mettle.
