A terrific start to the season saw Spurs establish themselves as one of the favourites for the title. Yet a disappointing run of four consecutive draws in the Premier League have deeply hurt the title ambitions of the North London side.
Add to that the recent 1-0 loss at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen left their Champions League campaign in total disarray, having already been knocked out of the EFL cup by Liverpool.
The North London derby couldn’t have come a much worse time for Tottenham with the team direly lacking in confidence and form. The team have missed the defensive solidity of Toby Alderweireld at the back with the Belgian still unavailable for the derby clash.
An even more worrying aspect for the team though seems to be upfront with the likes of Janssen, Son, Erikson and Lamela struggling to get the goals.
Harry Kane could yet feature with the striker being declared fit for the clash with Arsenal. Meanwhile in midfield Moussa Sissoko is unavailable due to suspension while midfield enforcer Dembele hasn’t been 100% fit for some time now.
All in all, for Tottenham it doesn’t look like a good time to be facing the Gunners. That having said though, form matters little in a derby and we should expect an intriguing battle come Sunday.
