Liverpool’s defensive frailties yet again cost them points on Sunday as they were held to a 2-2 draw at home to West Ham United.
The result coupled with last week’s 4-3 capitulation at Bournemouth has put the Liverpool defense under intense scrutiny and none more so than the goalkeeping department.
Apart from the obvious criticism coming the way of the goalkeeper, fans are now seemingly starting to be concerned over the influence of Liverpool goal keeping Coach John Achterberg under whom Pepe Reina and Simon Mignolet both floundered.
And with current number 1, Loris Karius showing no signs of improvement fans are rightly concerned over the role of Achterberg who remains the only surviving member of the backroom staff from the pre-Brendan Rodgers days.
Check out the reaction from the Liverpool fans after the 2-2 West Ham draw below!
I don’t know what a goalkeeping coach does. But the last time we had a genuinely excellent GK Achterberg wasn’t at #LFC. Coincidence?

Brad Jones has just won the Eredivisie keeper of the year award. Happy for him. That's what happens when you get away from Achterberg.

Reina, Mignolet and now Karius. Achterberg must have the Midus Touch; except every keeper he touches turns to shit. #LFC

John Achterberg has to be the worst GK coach around. Turned Reina crap, then Mignolet, now Karius. A theme the club need to pick up on.

Instead of slating good keepers, you need to look at John Achterberg. Reina, Mignolet and Karius all down the pan and he's been the coach

GK-coach John Achterberg stealing a living. Every keeper coming to LFC since he joined is getting worse and worse.

It's can't be a coincidence that ever single keeper, without fail, deteriorated under Achterberg. Show me one who improved? Anyone?
