Pic: Chalobah bestie Dries Mertens was at the Bridge for Chelsea’s Boxing Day win v Bournemouth

As someone who has been a part of the club since he was 10 years old, it’s safe to say that Nathaniel Chalobah is Chelsea through and through. And the young midfielder is finally being rewarded with a position in the first team after a number of loan moves in order to develop his game.

The last of those loan moves came last season when the youngster spent a whole season at Italian club Napoli. He did make a few appearances for them but never did manage to get a massive run of games, largely due to the wealth of midfield options already present at the Italian club.

However, it seems the man fondly called “Nate Dogg” by his peers made a good friend at the club in Dries Mertens. The Belgian international has been a mainstay at the Naples club for nearly four seasons now but recently took time out to come support his friend at Stamford Bridge.
