The much-awaited African Cup of Nations is looming over the horizon and Senegal kicked off their pre-tournament friendly today by overpowering Congo 2-0. A goal each from Lazio’s Keita Balde and Osmanlispor’s Papa Ndiaye helped their nation pull off an emphatic win.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was previously quoted saying that he would miss the services of super striker Sadio Mane, and the club’s top scorer proved just why. The 18th minute of the game witnessed a powerfully sublime through ball by Sadio from the half line, which was so inch perfect that Keita’s effortless shot past the Congolese keeper left fans dancing.
The 24 year old has been a dream signing for Liverpool under Klopp’s watchful guidance, and is touted to prove himself as the most valuable player for Senegal, which a serious contender in the upcoming continental tournament.
