After the disappointing 3-2 loss at Barnsley last time out, Leeds United bounced back strongly with a comprehensive 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at Elland Road on Wednesday.
In a match where clear cut chances were at a premium, in form striker Chris Wood capitalised on some poor Forest defending to open the scoring with his 20th goal of the season in the second half.
Substitute Souleymane Doukara who had been on the pitch for just two minutes then added Leeds’ second of the night; a spectacular volley from 20 yards out to seal the win for Leeds.
The goal remarked by some as one of the best ever goals at Elland Road served as the prime highlight of the match. With Forest clearing away a corner, the ball fell only as far as to the edge of the box where an
unmarked Doukara timed an impeccable thunderbolt of a volley into the top corner to secure the win for Leeds.
