Harry Kane reacts to Tottenham’s hard fought win over Southampton on Twitter

Tottenham secured their second place on the table with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Southampton at the White Hart Lane today.

Christian Eriksen stepped up to the occasion and converted Mousa Dembele’s pass with a powerful and low strike past Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

Spurs soon added another goal to their name after Dele Alli scored his 15th goal of the season by converting a foul on him into a penalty in the 33rd minute.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino went into the game without his prolific 24-goal striker Harry Kane, but Spurs displayed character to prove that they are a lot more than him.

Kane has been ruled out for six weeks following an ankle injury that he picked up during his side’s FC Cup quarter-final win over Millwall last weekend.

And although Kane was dejected over being unable play the game, the 23 year-old took to Twitter to praise his team for securing a victory before the international break.
