The fact that Celtic’s future is secured by brilliant young talent was affirmed after Scotland beat Montenegro 6-1 in the UEFA Euro U-17 Championship last night.
Firing Scotland in the next round of the Championship were some stunning performances by young players who impressed their respective clubs immensely.
Jack Aitchison opened the game with a beautiful curling strike and added another goal to his name in the second half, while Kerr Mcinroy scored one as well. All three assists came from their Celtic team-mate Daniel Church.
A brace courtesy of Norwich City’s Glenn Middleton, and a goal by Rangers player Zak Rudden and helped Scotland secure a win, while Montenegro could only manage to score one.
Celtic’s youth academy routinely supplies many promising players to Scotland’s U17 squad and Jack Aitchison is one of them. The striker became the youngest footballer to play for Celtic by scoring on his debut at the age of 16 last year.
