Jose Mourinho ensured that Manchester United’s 600th Premier League win helped them move up to the 5th spot after beating Middlesbrough 3-1 earlier today.
Maroune Fellaini scored his first PL goal of the season by heading past ex-United keeper Victor Valdes, just before Jesse Lingard added another goal to the scoresheet with a brilliant second-half strike.
Boro did manage to pull one back through substitute Rudy Gestede, but it counted for nothing as Antonio Valencia sealed a win with a tap-in goal late during injury time.
United boss Jose Mourinho had drawn acrimonies after his gesture during his last game against Chelsea and appeared visibly calm and stoic during his side’s first two goals today.
But it was just the proverbial calm before a storm as the manager provocatively erupted in joy after their last goal, which even led to a scuffle between players in the tunnel later.
