It is a testament to the standard that Brendan Rodgers has set for his charges at Celtic this season that even in the course of a 5-0 thumping of Hearts which sealed the Scottish League with an astonishing 8 games still to play, the manager was seen demanding more from his players.
Rodgers has often used the word “relentless” as his attitude and it’s certainly rubbed off on Celtic skipper Scott Brown, who absolutely lambasted himself for his performance in the match. Brown likened his contribution to a “Chernobyl” in a humorous post-match interview where he stated that “the wee circle thing” kept getting in his way – brilliant stuff from the Scotsman.
Brown showered his team mates with plaudits for delivering when he himself felt he did not, though he did put in a lot of effort. His comments indicate the attitude of constant self-improvement and a team-centric approach that has seen the Bhoys canter to the title with an incredible 28 wins in 30 games.
Check out the bit from his interview below:
Scott Brown wasn’t a fan of his own performance against Hearts:
“I had a Chernobyl.”
