Showing Their Appreciation
Simon Mignolet’s Liverpool career has not quite worked out the way he probably envisioned it. The Belgian would have been thrilled to play for one of England’s top clubs, but his time at Anfield has seen his reputation take a hit.
He’s a distant second to Thibaut Courtois for the national team and for a while the only time he hit the headlines was due to his goalkeeping gaffes.
On Saturday however Mignolet seemed to find his way back into the form that once saw him counted amongst the best shot-stoppers in the Premier League with an imperious display against Stoke.
He may not have come away with a clean sheet but he put in a match winning performance as the Reds prevailed 2-1. His team mates were definitely appreciative as they welcome the keeper into the locker room with a rousing round of applause after the game.

Jurgen Klopp might fancy young Karius as a long-term No. 1, but Mignolet had a game to remind everyone that he’s still tough to beat.
