Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Everton two weeks ago was tarnished by an injury suffered by star forward Sadio Mane in the second half of the game. Going in for a challenge against Leighton Baines, it was Mane who came off worse for wear as he had to be removed from the game after injuring his left knee.
Although pictures eventually emerged of the player looking in good spirits whilst signing autographs for fans, it eventually became clear that he needed surgery on the knee to repair a torn meniscus. The surgery means he will play no further part in this campaign, which isn’t the best news for Liverpool.
Their win record without the Senegalese forward is abysmal – just one win in six games. That being said, Mane was pictured emerging from a London hospital after undergoing successful surgery, meaning Liverpool will have to prepare to make the top 4 without the aid of their star man.
Here’s wishing Mane good luck, check out the photo below!
