Dead men walking?
Oh the misery that is being an Arsenal supporter at the moment.
Just when the team appeared to be putting together a decent run, the Gunners had an abysmal outing at Selhurst Park as they were thrashed by Crystal Palace by 3 goals to nil.
Theo Walcott echoed the mood of most fans when he surprisingly conceded in the post-match that he thought their opponents wanted to win more – a damning indictment for any football team.
Walcott’s comments provide an insight into a disjointed and despairing set of players. Sami Mokbel, Sports reporter for the Daily Mail, reported that the atmosphere of the locker room was akin to a “morgue like state” in the aftermath of a shocking performance where Arsenal failed to register a single shot on target in the second half.
With rumours swirling that Arsene Wenger is adamant on staying, the Frenchman will have to find a way to motivate his players in order to avoid having the worst season under his charge.
For the beleaguered Arsenal faithful, they cannot wait to put this season behind them and just let it Rest in Peace.
