James Beattie jumped out of nowhere as the Leeds dugout went crazy after Chris Wood’s goal v Newcastle (Video)

Coaches Gone Wild

It was a clash of the Championship Titans, and while it left a bit to be desired, it certainly delivered in terms of drama.

Leeds United snatched a late, late draw as Chris Wood scored with his side’s only shot on target to deny hosts Newcastle a win in a crucial game between two top-four sides. Jamaal Lascelles put the Magpies in the lead but Wood added to his impressive season tally with a huge goal in terms of the title and promotion play-off race.

Just how vital that strike is can be summed up from the reaction of the Leeds bench, as manager Garry Monk and his coaching staff went absolutely berserk. Fist pumps and aggressively manic faces were widely featured with the special image of former England international and current Peacocks first-team coach James Beattie seemingly jumping in from the sky behind Monk in celebration.

The backroom staff don’t often grab the headlines but they deserve their share of credit and fans on social media were absolutely delighted with the delirious scenes. The point is vital to Leeds’ promotion hopes, and supporters will be hoping for similar scenes in the coming weeks.
