When Zlatan Ibrahimovic first signed for Manchester United, the general consensus was one of joy from Manchester United fans. There was, however, a glimmer of doubt as to whether or not he’d be able to hack it in the fast-paced Premier League. Suffice to say he proved the doubters wrong.
This is what makes the injury he suffered against Anderlecht in the Europa League even harder to bear for the Old Trafford faithful. The veteran striker, whose goals bailed United out of many a tough situation, will now be unavailable for at least a few months. Some reports say he might be out for the rest of the calendar year.
The outpouring of well wishes for the Swede was immediate. Amongst the many who wished him well were his former club AC Milan, who took to their official Twitter account to post a classy message of support and encouragement to the man who gave them many good memories during his time at the San Siro.
