It’s that time of year again – the time when leaks and rumours about football clubs’ kits for the upcoming season begin to emerge with fans anxiously hoping that their teams can do justice both to their support and their fashion sense.

While it’s easy to criticize clubs for the constant churning out of new products safe in the knowledge that the fervent supporters will gobble them up as commercial cynicism, the fact remains that it’s always nice to see some new and imaginative designs – though that is not always the case.

As it happens, unconfirmed images for the proposed kit for Tottenham to sport next season emerged on the internet and has caused quite a lot of debate. The images feature the classic white home-strip as well as a dark-blue shirt with grey sleeves and a purple design with certain ‘abstract’ shapes.

Supporters were mostly pleased with the results on social media though there were a few who were not so keen on the new designs, calling for a return to the traditional yellow Spurs away-strip.

While these images are yet to be verified, the marketing team for the London club would do well to follow-up on the fan banter as a good litmus test for their choices.
