Tottenham just don’t know when they’re beaten. After leaders Chelsea managed an impressive win over Southampton mid-week to keep the pressure on their London rivals, Spurs had to win away at Crystal Palace in order to sustain their own title push.

Selhurst Park did not prove to be an easy fixture for Tottenham – but it’s exactly times like this when the big-time players step up to be counted. And that’s exactly what Christian Eriksen did as his sweet strike towards the end of the match proved to be the difference between Palace and Spurs in a narrow 1-0 win.

It was evident that the White Hart Lane faithful weren’t the only ones who enjoyed Eriksen’s match-winning turn as Sports Writers around England chose to take the opportunity to give showcase their best puns, and they weren’t too shabby either!

Spurs are still breathing down the necks of Chelsea and might even cause one of the great season-end turnovers in Premier League history. They have certainly been the team playing the best football, but it remains to be seen if they can hold it together and be ‘Christian-ed’ as the new Champions (couldn’t resist, sorry)
