It’s always handy to have a fantastic youth set-up. Just ask Manchester United, who set up a title-soaked dynasty founded on the talents of that hallowed ‘Class of ’92’.

Homegrown talent is certainly a cheaper alternative to dipping into the transfer market and always gives the home fans something extra to cheer on for.

Chelsea certainly seem to have their next batch of superstars as their youth team retained the FA Youth Cup with a sparkling 5-1 victory at Stamford Bridge to seal a 6-2 aggregate win over Manchester City.

Chalobah, Ugbo, Hudson-Odoi – goalscorers for the Blues here, and prepare to see these names in the Premier League soon enough.

First team coach Antonio Conte was there to celebrate the win, and added a nice touch by visiting the home-team dressing room after the game and congratulating each individual player.

It would certainly have made for a special moment for the lads and given Conte a chance to acquaint himself with the talent pool should he require them soon. Real class from the gaffer and a Win-Win for Chelsea all the way.

  1. Antonio Conte is an amazing coach and a great tactician. He has had relevant success and gained silverware to support this. He is also a true professional, gentleman and is very down to earth, which can be quite rare in certain high profile people. This does not surprise me that he visited and personally congratulated the youth team at Chelsea. He started as a junior himself and realises what this would mean to the upcoming stars !!!. Hopefully Chelsea will win the League and Cup double this year. What an achievement this would be for the brilliant Antonio in his first year in England and dealing with the Premiership which is totally different and more difficult than Serie A. A fantastic honour for a fantastic person. Forza Conte ! Forza Italia. The best Managers are the Italian Managers !
