(Unwanted) Fan Interaction

When it comes to the Old Firm Derby, all bets are off. The history of the fixture has been marred with violence both on and off the pitch while every so often some good football also breaks out. Celtic are definitely in the ascendancy at the moment and they proved their dominance with a 5-1 away win at Ibrox Park – the biggest winning margin away against their bitter rivals ever. It would not be too difficult to imagine what the mood of the home crowd must have been like.

In fact, one fan decided that his team were simply not doing enough to stop their rivals and took matters into his own hands. The errant supporter can be spotted running up and getting right into Celtic captain Scott Brown’s face – he certainly did not want an autograph.

Rangers’ players had to escort the man to edge of the pitch before he re-joined the throng, with no perceptible reaction from the stewards and security staff. Lax enforcement and a lax defence – plenty of worrying signs at the Ibrox.

While the pitch invasion proved to have no real effect on the game, it is still a pretty ugly sight. Though surely not as unwelcome as the scoreboard at the end of the game for the home faithful.
