Random Tottenham flag spotted during the Europa League finals last night (Photo)

Manchester United finally secured the elusive Europa Leauge trophy as they beat Dutch side Ajax 2-0 at the Friends Arena in Stockholm on Wednesday.

Goals from Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan saw the more experienced Red Devils comfortably overcome a young Ajax side in the final showpiece of Europe’s second tier competition.

Quite interestingly, in the midst of all the Ajax and Man Utd banners, a Tottenham flag queerly made an appearance in one of the stands in the stadium.

The white flag had the Spurs logo inscribed on it while bearing the Amsterdam name written on the horizontal blue stripe of the flag.

It remains unclear as to the reasons behind the bizarre appearance of the Spurs flag in a match between Ajax and Man Utd. One possible reason could be the presence of several former Ajax players in the Spurs team.

  1. It’s the Ajax-amstersdam Spurs supporters club. They support spurs too! It’s quite a well known supporters club and has nothing to do with the player connection mentioned here in the article. They follow both teams.
