Bruno Alves has not even completed his move officially and is already a Rangers cult hero
The transfer market is due to open in approximately a month and fans of most clubs are predictably exhilarated (and a little anxious) to say the least.
It is easy to get lost in the plethora of transfer rumours and completed deals. Griezmann to Manchester United, Mbappe to Real Madrid, Aubameyang to PSG are the stories that keep football journalists busy all day. In this mayhem, it is easy to neglect the stories involving the non-elites of European football.
One such story involves Rangers FC, who despite not being a dominant force in Europe anymore still have the history to attract talented footballers.
According to reports, Rangers have signed Cagliari centre-back Bruno Alves, who is a certified winner with 10 trophies at club level. He was also a part of the Portugal squad that won the Euro Cup in 2016.
However, a little information from Rangers fansite followfollow.com has revealed that Bruno apparently forced his way out on a free transfer to link up with manager Pedro Caixinha.
His wage will likely be less than that at Cagliari considering the higher revenues in Serie A. Such transfers are rare considering players’ obsession these days to earn exorbitant amounts.
Also, his comments about winning titles with Rangers will only endear him more to the Rangers fans. Something to look forward to for the club this summer!
