Liverpool are set to return to Europe’s premier competition, the UEFA Champions League after a hiatus of two seasons. Predictably, preparations are going on in full earnest at Anfield as they look to take on the best clubs in Europe. The Reds have been linked with a host of big names like Virgil Van Djik and Naby Keita as the owners look to spend big based on the renewed trust in Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Another name doing the rounds at Anfield’s transfer rumour mill is that of Mohamed Salah. The former Chelsea outcast moved to AS Roma in the summer of 2015 and had another stellar season at the Rome-based club in which he has scored 19 goals and provided 15 assists.
Kopites will definitely be excited with this player and his sudden bursts of speed. Like Liverpool who would want to prove that they could still hang around consistently near the top of the table, Salah would love to show his doubters that he has the mettle to play in the Premier League.
And now, two Egyptian commentators in Bilal Ahmad Allam (who works for MBC Pro Sports) and Mohamed Alkawaleny (who is a commentator at the Arabic affiliate of beIN Sports) seems to have confirmed his arrival at Anfield with their tweets.
Allam simply tweeted a pic of Salah and Klopp with a range of emojis, while Alkawaleny tweeted, “Mohammed Salah officially joins Liverpool # for 40 million euros — Congratulations Abu Makkah”.
