Most reliable Leeds journo Phil Hay savages a trash talking Middlesbrough fan on Twitter

Out of all possible scenarios Leeds United fans would have imagined their club to face this summer, their current predicament is certainly not one of them.

After manager Garry Monk almost led the Peacocks to the Premier League and missed play-off spots by a whisker, fans expected him to stay another season and make a fresh attempt for promotion.

That even looked possible when the club’s new owner offered a contract renewal to Monk, who shockingly went on to reject it and decided to join rivals Middlesbrough instead.

And since Leeds fans have clearly not forgiven Monk for his treachery yet, Middlesbrough supporters must know better than to provoke them. One such Boro faithful got his fair share of drubbings when he tried to outsmart all-things Leeds journalist Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post, by calling him “obsessed” with Garry Monk’s move to Riverside Stadium.

The journo replied by digging up an old tweet proving the fan’s obsession with the whole issue instead. Check out how Phil Hay replied below –

    1. I Don’t get it, Boro fan has a humorous jibe about the Garry Monk obsession, Phil replies with a fixture. Hardly savaged (not even a clever retort).

He then follows this up with a copy of a previous (totally irrelevant) tweet to make a point, though i’m not sure what……. maybe the Victor Orta thing???? Garry Monk is not even mentioned!!

maybe he should watch a few Jimmy Carr stand up shows or something because as far as I can see….

      Boro fan 2 – 0 Phil Hay

      1. HAHAHA totally Agree, Absolutely pathetic laughable article.

Love how Garry Monk Just missed out and taking Leeds back to the Prem. He didn’t even make
playoffs he JUST missed out on that. One is not the same as the other. Typical Leeds fans still totally deluded, Back to mid table next season no doubt Chris Wood will prove that class is permanent and sadly for Leeds fans form is temporary! HAHA

  2. Boro fan getting desperate, taking a manager who couldn’t even get us into the play offs last season, could luck to Boro as they’ll need a humongous amount of it, especially with Pep Clotet not with Monk to make all the correct decisions, looks like league one football for Boro.
