While the involvement of most clubs during this summer’s transfer window has largely been limited to rumours, Everton have gone all the way and have started building their team.
One of the most expensive signings since the season ended has been that of Jordan Pickford, the 23-year old who joined the Toffees for a record £30 million, making it the most expensive deal for a goalkeeper in England.
Pickford, who has played for England at almost every level, was called up for national duty during the ongoing U-21 European Championships in Poland, which is also where he successfully completed a medical for Everton before signing the five year long deal.
The shotstopper has been having a great time on the goal for the Three Lions, especially during last night’s 3-0 win over Poland. Not content with just saving goals, Pickford even assisted by pulling off a beautiful 60-yard pass to left-back Ben Chilwell, which eventually resulted in England’s first goal of the game.
