No club has splurged as much in the transfer market since 2013 as Manchester United have. The return of all those investments may have been far little, but their fortunes under Jose Mourinho has been an upturn.
Now the Red Devils set their sights on one trophy that has eluded them ever since – the Premier League trophy. And with the kind of lineup on display below, they stand a good chance to end the drought.
Having already acquired Lindelof, United’s next top targets include Fabinho, Ivan Perisic and Alvaro Morata.
Fabinho was an instrumental figure in Monaco’s title winning campaign, having run the rules through the midfield. His acquisition is surely set to stir a United midfield that often switched off last season. Perisic, on the other hand, is a long time target for the club, but the time may have finally come to make the move.
The Croatian remains one of the few bright lights for Inter Milan, scoring goals on his day and creating chances at will. His level of creativity will be more suited for a club like United, whereas Morata’s attacking intent upfront will make fans forget Zlatan.
The Spaniard had limited opportunities at Real Madrid last season, yet made a lasting impact. Given proper time and service, he can be a fierce goal machine.
Should all the remaining transfer materialize, United will have all the necessary tools in their armor to launch a sustained assault on the title.
