Southampton centre back Virgil Van Dijk has long been a subject of transfer, and despite his injury-ravaged 2016/17 season, he continues to top the list of players who are bound for a relocation in this summer.

The Dutch international is touted to be on his way to Southampton’s favourite customers Liverpool, and his recent activity of liking certain quotes on the social media only adds more fuel to the fire.

The 25-year old recently liked these quotes on Twitter, and the fans were quick to jump the gun. Needless to say the quotes are as cryptic as it can get, but one does get the feeling that it conveys a rather brutal message for the Saints fans.

It has long rumored that the Dutchman will probably have to hand in a transfer request to get the desired move, something which is only going to draw him the ire of Southampton faithfuls.

Dejan Lovren and Adam Lallana were some of the victims of Southampton fans’ wrath when they attempted a similar thing few years back, and looks like Van Dijk too is going to have a tough path towards the exit doors of the club.

Liverpool remain tight-lipped about this issue, but its all about reading between the lines!

Check out the quotes like by Van Dijk below –

  1. Lets try for VvD in Jan if he is still available. It doesn’t look like a deal can be done now but if it were possible it would go a way in dissuading some of the disappoint so far.

  2. No vvd no keita but we have klopp.. He will find others.. Hope we get keita this year if not we will have to wait till next year

  3. I see utd debt now at £520m.. In the last 5 years it has risen 300m. 60%of club is owned by shareholders from America. Rumours of tax evasion persist. I smell trouble

  4. Lfc should forget vvd forget this guy mammanna and sign davinson sanchez for centerback and dalbert for leftback deals lfc can do because clubs are willing to sell. We should of try for rudigar soon as roma sed he availble tbh. But now we should be going for sanchez not manmanna.

  5. when will LFC fans wake up and smell the coffee! They only just qualified for CL by the skin of theor teeth, they are hugely in debt and not the club or team they were 20 years ago. They need to live in the present not the past.

  6. If you kill yourself, it’s called suicide. If you kill someone, it’s called homicide. If you kill thousands, it’s called genocide. If you kill the King, it’s called regicide. If you kill your brother, it’s called fratricide. And, if you have 2 Premier League teams, and neither have won the League for over 20 years, it’s called Merseyside .
