Leeds fans pursuit of transfer happenings is truly impressive

On Tuesday, a couple of ardent followers of Leeds United caught up with the transfer rumblings in a rather unforeseen manner. Instead of waiting for an official statement from the management, they went one step further and clicked pictures of a pending arrival at their club’s training facility.

What followed was an intense scrutiny of their collection to decipher the identity of their new man.

With only a snapshot of the player’s back to go on, the supporters matched the hairstyle and used ‘wet floor’ signs as a scale for calculating height to narrow down the suspect list to Matthew Pennington of Everton.

The tenacious followers posted about their findings online and were found to be absolutely on the mark with their prediction, as the club announced the deal shortly afterwards.

Elland Road has been a busy place this summer with a plethora of transfer activity taking place. Armed with inquisitive patrons of social media, the fans are doing their bit in putting the spotlight on internal negotiations. Gone are those times when clubs hoped to do their dealings behind closed doors, it seems.
