The new season has not even begun yet and Liverpool have already started facing uncertainty looming over their plans as far as the transfer saga of Naby Keita is concerned.
The midfielder, who is said to have dominated the Reds’ shopping list for weeks now, has become a point of frustration for fans, whose patience seems to be running out with every passing day.
Conflicting media reports have either brought Keita closer to Merseyside or taken him further away, but the latter seems to be the dominant narrative lately, especially after Leipzig rejected two successive bids from Liverpool this week.
There is a ray of hope emerging, though, and it is in the form of journalist Amadou Makadji, who is said to be the primary source of all the Naby Keita news.
Makadji claims that “the next week will be decisive” as Liverpool will place a final bid amounting to €80 million, which will be very difficult for Leipzig to resist this time.
