The English Right Back gets nostalgic on Instagram

Kyle Walker is a Manchester City player now but it seems he still maintains a soft spot for his old teammates at Tottenham. The former Spurs full back has been actively following online activities of his old partners, serving a reminder that his first love for the North London Club still burns brightly inside him.

Walker, who completed his move to the Manchester club for a fees of £50 million was spotted liking a Jan Vertonghen post on Instagram. Greeted with a continuous barrage of disdain in the aftermath of his transfer, this might go some way in papering over the cracks in his relationship with the White Hart Lane faithful.

With little or no transfer activity this summer, supporters had been adamant that Tottenham first team had enough resources for the new campaign. However, the loss of their home grown talent has resulted in inviting disgust for the player as well as their transfer strategy. Daniel levy has proven to be a shrewd dealer in the past, yet the loss of a major asset to their competitors will be a hard pill to swallow.

Showing love on social media can offer momentary satisfaction for the England national for the time being but clearly, he has left a significant hole in Spurs hearts and team.

  1. How is Kyle Walker home grown talent when they bought him from Sheffield United? Surely they are also probably his first love?
