As far as football traditions go, chants are the most sacred ways to invoke strong reactions and emotions to help teams get going and win matches on the field.

Sometimes the honour of chants is bestowed on individual players as well, as Hadi Sacko eventually found out during a short meeting with fans after training recently.

The midfielder was greeted by a bunch of admirers who decided to felicitate him with their rendition of a custom-made chant along the lines of pop group Rednex’s song from the 90s, ‘Cotton Eye Joe’

Fan support is, of course, something that every player cherishes, but it would also be understandable to have reservations about a chant going something like this: “Where did you come from, Hadi Sacko? Where did you come from and where did you go?”

A notable effort, maybe, but Leeds fans can surely do better than this. Check out fans’ tribute to Hadi Sacko –
