As euphoria seeps though the West Yorkshire following the arrival of the much anticipated Spanish import Samuel Saiz, a miasma of sorrow simmers it all down as the much decorated goalkeeper Marco Silvestri departs after three seasons.

The Italian joins the newly promoted Serie A side Hellas Verona, and his partner Sofia Jamal has thanked all the Leeds United fans for their unconditional support to her and her beau in a moving letter.

Posted on her Twitter page were a few words of gratitude by her, thanking the club’s followers for all the love that they bestowed upon them both. An experience that she describes as being a “family” and a “home”.

Following a long association with the club, a departure is definitely tough as nostalgia hits hard on the face. And Sofia is well aware of that when she mentions she’ll miss all the amazing Leeds fans, who cheered for her partner everytime he graced the field. Also the “protection” that they provided from the majority rival fans during games away from Beeston.

Marco’s third season may have been a cagey one, having made just six appearances all season, but continues to hold a very special place in the hearts of all the Whites’ faithfuls. And the letter reflects on how much dearly Sofia acknowledges that.

The stunning WAG had already caught the eye of all the fans with her attractiveness, but now tugs at their hearts with her striking show of gratitude.
