The preseason fixtures are an amazing chance for young players to gain some valuable playing time and experience against the best teams in the world and impress the gaffer, and United’s young midfielder Andreas Pereira was massively impressive when his chance came in the Red Devil’s penalty shootout victory against Real Madrid.

The 21-year old, who is looking to fight for his place in the team, played with purpose and determination, but one particular move he made during the game stood out and perfectly justified his undoubted potential.

Pereira received a loose pass in United’s half but was covered by the Los Blancos. He still guarded the ball and kept the possession by shrugging off players like Danilo, Kroos and Marcelo before finally making a pass out wide.

For someone his age, it would be a dream come true to be on the same pitch as Kroos and Marcelo, let alone bamboozling these decorated players effortlessly.

The Brazilian midfielder has been a United player since 2014, but has managed to make only 5 appearances. He spent the 2016-17 season on loan at Spanish club Granada and has now returned to United.

With the roster already crowded with world class players like Pogba and Herrera, it looks tough for Pereira to break out in the first team, but United fans will still hope he provides decent squad depth if he stays.
