Coming back to top tier football after a long summer break might be difficult for some players, but it has only been the opposite for Florian Lejeune.

The French defender has seamlessly been integrated into Rafa Benitez’s team ever since his transfer from Spanish side Eibar earlier this month.

The 26-year old seems to be at the peak of his career and is seen as a reliable defender who possesses the strength required to break down opponents’ attacks.

Lejeune even showed fans how skillful he can be during Newcastle’s pre-season clash against Bradford City, where the defender produced a delightfully gentle touch to control the ball beautifully while it was landing from a great height, before passing it on to a team-mate.
