Eric Bailly turned out to be an instant hit amongst the fans after putting forward numerous robust performances for United last season.
His name became synonymous with the word ‘fearless’ in the United camp and the Ivorian proved why he is right up there with Premier League’s best defenders by pulling off a clearance in his trademark style during United’s 4-0 triumph against West Ham on Sunday.
The Red Devils were under pressure from West Ham and De Gea was forced to save an oncoming shot but he could not manage to put a strong hand across.
The ball was about to land in the danger area again and anything could’ve happened, but then emerged Bailly, still trying to recover from the mishap created in the previous attack, he flung his body and took a backward header to clear the ball.
It surely looked a bit funny, but the determination needed to do something like this cannot really be taught to a player. Bailly was rewarded for his heroics as United manage to maintain a clean sheet.
