With a resounding 5-0 victory over FC Astana, Celtic all but managed to book a place in the Champions League group stages on Wednesday.
A Scott Sinclair double coupled with James Forrest’s strike helped the home side cruise through, while their opponents added two more via own-goals to help Celtic’s cause further.
The game was not very easy for Brendan Rodgers’ men initially, as disciplined Astana players kept the midfield packed during the first few minutes. When Celtic managed to break that deadlock eventually, they had to deal with Rogic’s horrific head injury later on.
A nasty clash of heads ensued when Astana’s Logvinenko banged into Rogic, bringing both of them tumbling down. The referee didn’t stop the game and Sinclair went on to score an excellent goal in the 62nd minute.
So elated were Celtic players, that a crazy Mikael Lustig was seen celebrating the goal with an unconscious Rogic lying on the ground!
