Leeds United, according to manager Thomas Christiansen, produced their “best game so far” when they beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 on Saturday.
The Peacocks’ tactical superiority was clearly evident right from the first minute of the game, as their opponents barely got to touch the ball for large parts of the first half.
Kemar Roofe, who scored a brilliant hat-trick in his last game, headed in the opening goal in the 24th minute, which was followed by Ezgjan Alioski’s goal just three minutes before the final whistle.
Although the favourable result away from home helped Christiansen showcase his tactical genius to the fans, his side’s high-pressing game brought the best out of his players as well.
For example, goal-scorer Alioski enthralled the crowd during one moment in the game when he relegated Nottingham’s Armand Traore down to the ground while pursuing a run along the flank.
