Tottenham’s 3-2 victory over West Ham ended with an entertaining finish when the Hammers put up a valiant fight lasting right until the final whistle.
Spurs, who had a comfortable 2-0 lead at half time, faltered when their opponents intensified their efforts to try and change the outcome of the result in the second half.
Despite leaking two goals, Spurs resisted hard and the intensity got the better of the two teams when a fracas broke out between the two sets of players in stoppage time.
Fernando Llorente, who had to spend much of the game on the bench, came on for Harry Kane in the 89th minute and ignited a clash.
It was the Spurs striker’s collision with Andy Carroll that led to a late fiasco involving players from both clubs indulging in some violent pushing.
