Everton new boy Jordan Pickford had an impressive senior national team debut last night as the 23-year-old shot-stopper started between the sticks for Gareth Southgate’s England in a friendly against Germany.
In a match that ended as a goalless draw, Jordan’s top class keeping skills was definitely the highlight of the night as the young keeper went on to make some eyebrow-raising saves in the first half to deny a prevailing German frontline consisting the likes of Leroy Sane and Timo Werner.
However, it was not only his shot-stopping skills that created the buzz as Jordan showcased his extensive array of traits when he made a crisp left-footed volley clearance to create a counter-attacking opportunity for his fellow English attackers.
A debut to remember for the young keeper and something to cherish for the Toffee fanatics as their £30 million summer signing is steadily starting to prove his worth.
