19-year-old Marcus Edwards displayed brilliant control and awareness as the Spurs youngster pulled off a backheel assist for the England U-20 side in the recent international friendly match against Germany.
Surrounded by German defenders on the left flank, Edwards played a delicate backheel pass to his teammate Harvey Barnes, who proceeded to deposit his team’s only goal of the night.
The goal, however, could not salvage the English colts a victory, as they slumped to a 2-1 defeat against the efficient Germans.
Nevertheless, considering Edwards’ deftness and finesse with the ball, as evidenced by his assist, it is safe to say that the future of English football and Tottenham looks bright and promising.
