With a superb performance against his former club on Saturday, the night was all about Mohammed Salah as he dominated headlines post the Liverpool-Chelsea blockbuster.
But while his exploits on the pitch were well documented, Salah made news off the pitch too when the story of his rejection as a youngster came to the fore courtesy of the very man who rejected him.
Mamdouh Abbas, the ex-president of local Egyptian club Zamalek SC was one of the many thousand in attendance at the match and according to reports, it was who Salah had invited Abbas for the match.
This despite the fact that it was Abbas who had rejected Salah for Zamalek back in the past.
