Just when Toon fans were beginning to lose hope of having any festive cheer concerning their club after the Magpies’ horrendous on-field form, news of a potential breakthrough in takeover talks has given fans hopes of having a gleeful Christmas.
A screenshot of a Facebook post showing details of Amanda Staveley’s potential takeover emerged last night. According to the post, the deal is set to cost £320 million with Mike Ashley set to receive additional add-ons of £15 million if the Magpies make it to Europe
I understand Mike Ashley and Amanda Staveley are close to reaching agreement for sale of NUFC. Ashley will fund January spending and be refunded by Staveley when deal completed end of January. Sale in region of £300m.

Rafa Benitez has previously voiced his concerns about the lack of transfer funds and according the leaked image, the Spaniard is reportedly set to be given a £100 million transfer kitty after the takeover next month.
With the threat of relegation hanging over the club after having only one win in 11 games in the league, this development is most certainly a positive news for Newcastle United fans who were growing increasingly restless due to the uncertainty surrounding their club.
