Mistakes can be rectified but not erased, at least not when they are made online. The Everton official Twitter admins would have learnt this the hard way.
Everton continued their unbeaten run as they defeated Newcastle United at St. James’ Park by a narrow margin on Wednesday. Whilst tweeting about the win, the Everton social media team accidentally tagged American rapper Lil Wayne instead of goalscorer Wayne Rooney.
While they did delete the post minutes later, the admins couldn’t prevent themselves from some embarrassment. People were quick to notice the gaffe and it soon went viral.
Everton have shown great improvement following the appointment of Big Sam as they climbed to the 10th place in the table. While the Toffees have managed to recover significantly following their rocky start to the season, it is safe to say that their Twitter admins still have some work to do.
