Jay-Roy Grot’s involvement in yesterday’s encounter between Leeds United and Norwich City lasted barely ten minutes, but it came at the expense of criticism from fans watching the game.
The 19-year-old replaced Samu Saiz in the 81st minute with Leeds clinging on to their 1-0 lead. The striker didn’t exactly lit up the stadium and a section of supporters lashed out by jeering at his efforts for the rest of the match.
Their contempt was so harsh that even manager Thomas Christiansen condemned it during a post-match interview, calling it a “problem” for fans to treat their own players like this.
