Wayne Rooney missed one and scored one from the spot as Everton’s resurgence under Sam Allardyce continued with a thumping 3-1 win over the Swans yesterday.
Between the two Rooney penalties the crowd at Goodison also got to witness a thumping effort by former Swansea player Gylfi Sigurðsson as the Blues came in from behind to secure all three points.
With the home crowd delighted with the resolute display from the old guard, the young guns also stepped in to remind everyone that the future of Goodison park is in capable hands.
A foul by youngster Jonjoe Kenny on Swansea’s Leroy Fer sparked a mini brawl late in the game with both sets of players getting involved and Everton fans were delighted to see a host of young players coming in to back one of their own.
