Sensational strike from yet another emerging English prodigy
Rhian Brewster announced himself in the U17 World Cup this year, scoring 8 goals in the tournament and winning the golden ball award. The teenager has continued his progress at Liverpool, scoring a terrific goal against PSV in the U23 International Cup last night.
The number 9 cushioned a long ball with his chest and unleashed a superb first time effort to give Liverpool the lead. The youngster has been bellowing his tender age with some mature performances for the U23s, leading to many calling for his inclusion in the first team under Jurgen Klopp. Tuesday night was yet another feather in Brewster’s cap as he delivered a fine performance for Neil Critchley’s side.
His composure to control the ball without breaking stride has been a hallmark of a poacher instinct. Wiser heads at Liverpool would know better than to thrust major expectations onto the youngster. However instances like these predict a quick promotion from the reserves.
